Prepaid Cellular Phone Plan

Prepaid cellular phone plans are the easiest to establish. Unlike regular cell phone plans, a prepaid plan requires no contract between the user and the cell phone service provider. This makes prepaid plans attractive to those with poor credit, low use needs, and teenagers.

Prepaid cellular phone plan users purchase the minutes they want to use up front. This makes it impossible to incur extra fees like those incurred on a regular plan when a user goes over his/her allotted minutes. Many people like prepaid plans becuase they don't receive a bill in the mail each month.

Though all of the prepaid cellular phone plans work in a similar manner, there are some differences. Most users who have a prepaid plan get their cellular phones from a major vendor such as Cingular, Verizon, AT&T, or Nextel. However, there are other smaller companies that all sell phones. These companies include TracFone, Cricket, and Virgin Wireless. With these phones minutes are usually purchased in stores such as Wal-Mart, KMart, or gas stations. Because of these differences it is important that you do both cell phone and service provider comparisons.
